The Phoenix Suns were linked with Jeremy Sochan at the trade deadline, but it's clear that missing out on the young forward has worked out well for the team. Sochan has barely featured for the New York Knicks since then, and with good reason. The 23-year-old has been overtaken in the rotation by Landry Shamet, and even if he had been added to the Suns' roster, the odds of him still being in The Valley a year from now were slim. Instead, rookie Rasheer Fleming got some run in the series and had a couple of moments of promise. With owner Mat Ishbia constantly preaching a long-term approach to team building, putting time and reps into Sochan over their own rookie would have been a mistake. The Suns' decision to pass on Sochan has paid off, and the team is now one win away from a championship.
